wpd is an operator and developer of installations for the generation of renewable energies with a clear focus on wind power.  Founded in Germany, wpd has contributed to sustainable development for over 15 years.  wpd is now active in 20 countries worldwide, with 600 employees around the globe.   In total, wpd has carried out onshore projects with around 1,400 turbines and an output of 2,100 MW.   Currently wpd is planning onshore projects with 7,000 MW in total worldwide.  

In addition to our onshore activities, wpd is one of Europe’s leading offshore developers with a pipeline of 10,000 MW.  One of the first commercial offshore wind plants, Baltic 1, developed by wpd, has been in operation since May 2011. wpd develops offshore projects in Germany, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, France and Italy.
